We use an algorithm (under development) that scores each server on several criteria. Right now the biggest factors are: number of active players, new-player retention time, uptime and AFK player count. Our algorithm is under development and may change without notice.

If a server sends fake data to OTServList, we apply a punishment. The server gets its score frozen at 0 and stays permanently at the bottom of the list.

How does the AFK / Always ON player system work?

OTServList constantly processes the history received through the Status Protocol for every listed server. The extracted info is used to score servers. Always ON players are online constantly for a long time. It may mean botting, anti-logout or shared accounts, for example. Of the Always ON players, those also spending a long time without gaining or losing levels are flagged AFK. All other players are considered normal. Right now, players flagged AFK negatively affect the server score. This system is under development and subject to change.

How do I add my server to OTServList?

OTServList uses data from the OT Archive project, so you must add your server through otarchive.com. Before adding your server, check whether it is already listed. OT Archive adds servers automatically. Is your server not listed? Follow these steps to add it: If OT Archive can connect to your server, it will be added and you will be automatically redirected to its page. The page updates with your server info after the first check. Tips OT Archive reads info like name and website straight from your server's config.lua, so make sure it is configured correctly.
